Retries, and alerting after several failed checks

This is a feature of Paid Plans.

Sometimes you need to monitor a particularly flaky site that tends to go down for less than a minute, a few times a day. You figure it's not a big deal, but you're not sure how to silence the alerts.

OnlineOrNot provides you two ways of dealing with this:

  1. Retries
  2. Waiting for several failed checks before alerting

You can configure both of these settings when adding a new page, or by editing your existing page:

Retries and waiting for several failed checksbefore sending an alert

Retries#

Retries let you specify how many times you want to re-check a site before deciding it's down.

By default, OnlineOrNot retries each page once before sending an alert.

Waiting for several failed checks before alerting#

Waiting for several failed checks before alerting lets you ensure several monitors have failed before sending an alert to a human.

By default, OnlineOrNot sends an alert the first time a check fails.
