How to send alerts to Pushover
Connect Pushover
Follow these steps to send OnlineOrNot alerts to your devices through Pushover.
- Click Settings in the navigation menu
- Click Integrations in the sidebar
- Open the Pushover section
- Enter a destination name
- Choose the default priority for down, reminder, and recovery alerts
- Click Continue to Pushover
- Approve the subscription in Pushover
Pushover redirects you back to OnlineOrNot after approval, and the destination appears under Settings > Integrations.
Choose where alerts go
After connecting Pushover, choose the Pushover destination when creating or editing an uptime check, DNS check, TCP check, browser check, or heartbeat monitor.
OnlineOrNot sends Pushover alerts when a selected monitor goes down, sends reminder alerts if you have reminders configured, and sends a recovery alert when it comes back up.
Alert priorities
Pushover destinations have separate default priorities for down, reminder, and recovery alerts:
- Lowest priority sends a quiet notification
- Low priority sends a lower-urgency notification
- Normal priority uses standard Pushover notification behavior
- High priority bypasses quiet hours
Troubleshooting
If a Pushover destination shows a warning, send a test alert from Settings > Integrations > Pushover.
Common causes are:
- The Pushover subscription was removed
- The Pushover user can no longer receive messages
- The destination was connected with the wrong Pushover account
Remove the destination and reconnect it if test alerts continue to fail.
